Overview
The goal of the Mathematics Department is to provide all students with a mathematics foundation in accordance with their needs, interests, motivation and capacities. The department recognizes the importance of mathematical computation at all levels of experieince. The department believes that all students entering Burr and Burton will be placed in an appropriate level of instruction to increase the probability that they will be successful and challenged. Certain standards of achievement must be met before progressing within a level. Every student is encouraged to continue the study of mathematics up to and includiing a fifth year of high school mathematics.
