Target Program

The Target Program, an innovative educational program at Burr and Burton Academy, gives students at high risk of dropping out of school or students who are simply not succeeding in the standard secondary program, an alternative educational setting and a flexible instructional program designed to ensure each student can succeed.

The program is also designed to encourage students who have already dropped out to return and complete their high school education in a new setting free of embarrassment and filled with support and encouragement. The program's goals are accomplished through a daily program that includes traditional classroom instruction in the morning and in the afternoon, placement at a local business where students have the opportunity to learn real-life skills, including interpersonal ones.

The objective of Target Graduation is to have every student graduate from high school well prepared to enter the work force or go on to higher education with self-esteem, knowledge, and practical skills.
