
Burr and Burton Athletic Hall of Fame
The purpose of the Burr and Burton Athletic Hall of Fame is to recognize, honor and provide an enduring memorial for those persons whose outstanding contributions have enriched the athletic programs and brought honor to the school. The recognition of past personalities and their significant contributions to Burr and Burton Athletics will serve to provide models for future generations to emulate. Nominees must exemplify the highest standards of sportsmanship, ethical conduct and moral character.
Athlete
Candidates must have been on a Burr and Burton varsity team for two years, and have graduated at least 10 years ago, and performed with excellence i.e. All-League and/or All-State.
Coach
Candidates must have coached at least five years and may not have coached at Burr and Burton in the past five years. Candidates must have shown excellence in leadership, character and outstanding achievements.
Friend of Athletics
This category is for a person or persons, other than a former coach or athlete, who has made a significant contribution to Burr and Burton’s athletic program through their attendance at games, dedication to and support of the school’s teams.
Burr and Burton Legends – New category in 2004
Any person who contributed to Burr and Burton athletics, in one of the above categories, whose contribution occurred prior to 1955.
Nomination forms are sent in early January to all alumni. The nominations are due by March 1st. Selection Committee meets in mid-April and inductees are recognized during the Awards Ceremony held during Reunion Weekend in June.
