Welcome to Burr and Burton Academy, Vermont's premier school. Founded in 1829, this extraordinary school provides the best of an independent school experience while serving as the high school for eleven towns in southern Vermont. We bring together 700 local and international students in world-class facilities, provide superb teachers and a rigorous curriculum, and have as a backdrop the stunning beauty of Vermont's Green Mountains.

Manchester offers an array of cultural opportunities and intellectual engagement that belies its small-town status, and it has the safety, intimacy and sense of community that in many areas has become a shrinking resource. The school itself provides every bit the education that one finds in the independent schools in major cities, yet we use our many connections with the surrounding community as a way of making the Burr and Burton experience even larger than the school itself.
