Alumni Recognition Awards
The Alumni Recognition Committee has devised three annual awards in
addition to the Athletic Hall of Fame Awards. All candidates must have
graduated from Burr and Burton in 1998 or earlier.
Alumni Distinguished Service Award
Candidates for this award should have rendered significant volunteer
service to Burr and Burton. The candidate’s record of volunteer service
would include but not limited to: Alumni Association, Trustee, Class
agent and/or support of the school’s academic departments etc. Their
volunteer endeavors facilitate the school’s mission.
Alumni Achievement Award
Candidates for this award should have a superb record of outstanding
contributions to their profession and community. The candidate’s record
should include but not be limited to: career accomplishments (all
careers including business and the arts), professional impact and/or
community service.
Faculty/Staff Distinguished Award
Candidates for this award should have proven dedication and loyalty to
Burr and Burton. Their leadership was evident to their fellow faculty
and staff members. Their impact on their students was measurable.
Eligible candidates must have been a member of the faculty/staff for at
least ten years, not currently employed by the school and may or may
not be living. Nominees must exemplify the highest standards of
sportsmanship, ethical conduct and moral character to serve as role
models for current and future students.
Nomination forms are sent in early January to all alumni. The
nominations are due by March 1. The Selection Committee meets in
mid-April and inductees are recognized during the Awards Ceremony held

2011 Alumni Recognition Awards
Burr and Burton Academy’s Alumni Association chose three new inductees for this year’s Alumni Recognition Awards.
The inductees were all honored at a special presentation ceremony prior to the Alumni Reunion 2011 Dinner.
