Burr and Burton prides itself on a supportve and caring community. This sense of community is evident in the classroom, on the stage, in the hallways, on athletic fields, and all around campus, where students and teachers collaborate, create, and work together. Burr and Burton's schedule is designed to enhance community by intentionally scheduling: a weekly assembly, when the entire community congregates together; weekly advisory sessions, when advisors meet with the students for whom they advocate; Flex Block on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, when students eat lunch at their leisure, seek teachers for support, and work independently or with friends; and weekly department meetings, when teachers gather to discuss best practice.
