BBA Handles Monumunet

The BBA team played a physical Monument team. BBA had a few early scares with deep long balls to their speedy winger that fortunately ended with no scores in the first ten minutes. Eventually, the Bulldogs settled down and controlled the game. The Bulldogs strung together a string of 6 passes just once, 4 passes four times, 3 passes twelve times and two passes 28 times in the eighty minutes of play. How do I know? Because freshmen Willa Redden and Sophia Witkin have been taking stats! Thank goodness we have these two injured players fully committed to the program helping out in any way they can. (We need to work on numbr of passes strung together, agreed). What else did they record? 11 shots on net. 5 goals and 5 assists. Not bad. Player of the game? There were a few of them. Brooke Weber had a hattrick. A hattrick! Nice. She's proving to be a very formidable forward.  Co-Captain Alexa Witkin started at center-back and you could tell between her and Co-Captain Addison Kujovsky, that it was going to be very difficult to get in behind on these two. I thought Alexa did a great job being proactive, going for balls, heading balls back into the mix, and generally being physical in the middle. Kujovsky , with her speed and tenacity, was the bookend to Witkin allowing very few players to get in behind where they could have caused damage. Mia Sherwood and Tully Trimmer were the other standouts that did a formidable job in the middle playing balls over the top and into space for the forwards to run onto not to mention a strong defensive effort disrupting any buildup centrally. Hannah Troumbley stepped up in goal and is proving to be a very fierce and capable keeper. Notables are Nikki Mackson, Casey Vogel, Halyn McIntyre, Hannah Cyr, Livia Barclay, Graciana Maier and Laurel Baker. Shout out goes to Lucy Farrell and Brielle Proctor for playing with our sister team and killing it 8-0! Four goals between the two of them. The whole team played well and after an 8-0 drubbing at our first scrimmage, has shown nice promise. There is still much to work on, but overall, great stuff to work off of!
