Missteps, not Mistakes

CVU played very direct, was fortunate on two goals, had a few more opportunuties than the host Bulldogs, and came out on top in a 4-2 battle. CVU scored in the first 90 seconds but the Bulldogs never give up. 15 minutes later the Bulldogs scored on a Witkin to Weber pass for a well placed bullet to the back of the net. The second was a nice layoff from Barclay to Proctor for a beautiful over the top drive of the outstretched hands of the CVU keeper. At the other end, keeper Hannah Troumbley played well always anticipating the ball coming toward her and jumping out to knock the ball back in to play.
There were definitely lessons to be learned from this game and that will be the fun part - to break down film and help the players understand what they did well, and what isn't working.....yet. The players fought back hard from being down 1-0 to tie it up 1-1. They fought hard to make it 3-2 and overall, just kept plugging away. A solid Effort all aroud. You have to Honor it.
