JV Gold Bounces Back

Not a lot of time here on this reflection so I'll make it snappy. On a very tight field with little width and not a whole lot of depth, the Bulldogs went to Bennington and surely had Benning Wentworth turning in his grave. With constant pressure and solid defense, the Bulldogs scored two in the first half and that's how the game was won. Brooke "she's on her horse" Weber and Brielle "Doctor" Proctor scored for the Bulldogs...again. With support from Vermont's strongest JV midfield (voted by all the authors on this page) and the fastest back line this side of the Battenkill River, our two speedy forwards were able to find the back of the net. "Doctor" Proctor could be seen in the corner of the attacking third fending off two defenders before she escaped away from pressure and lined one into the back of the net, over the jumping Bennington goalkeeper who was trying to parry the ball over but alas just couldn't get a fist on it. Mathematicians from the BBA math department were arguing over the exact angle of "Doctors"' shot, being that she was so close to the end line. Was it physically possible for the ball to sneak in past the near post? Being that Brielle was standing just a few feet from the end line, the department couldnt agree on whether the angle was 4 or 5 degrees and so settled on....(let's see, three plus five, carry the one, divide by 2, multiply by two imaginary numbers) four and a half degrees. Impressive. Weber upped her team leading tally to probably more than 10. Finally, there was a ghost shot that went in but wasn't official because the ref admitted "I couldnt see it". It's possible he had a smudge on his glasses, who knows. Laurel "Shaker" Baker was not credited with the ghost goal. Solid play was honestly had all around the field and a big shout out goes to all the players not mentioned here in this writing. The Bulldogs still have another gear and we're hoping they find it in Brattleboro on Saturday.
Until then, I just wanted to Honor the team's Effort.
See you Saturday in Brattleboro.
