Hung in there

Friday was the perfect afternoon to play soccer.  We hung in there as long as we could with a bigger, stronger and faster SMS team.  Our goalies (Ryan Kleckowski and Eli White) made some terrific saves and limited SMS to one goal each half.  Our Man of the Match award goes to Kava Kraft who also helped keep it close by cleaning up many attacking opportunities by SMS.  He did a nice job of providing cover and balance to Will Clark, Charlie Levene and Max Borhek on defense.  Our midfielders (Evan Hulett, Luke Chila, Aiden McMahon, Dylan Skandera, Landon Hekking) covered a lot of ground and tried to counterattack when we possessed the ball.  Our strikers (Sebastian Saunders and Pierre Dobbelmann) got the ball forward a few times but was very difficult to get past the SMS defense.  Again, we hung in there and competed to the final whistle.  We connected on several passes and were able to build out of the back a few times.  We also did a nice job of communicating with each other.  Back in action tomorrow with a tough Arlington team.
