Bulldogs Power Through

After a tough battle against the highly athletic SMS Varsity squad the night before, the BBA JV Gold Girls Bulldogs had to play their fierce rivals from Rutland early Thursday evening. That's a difficut task, playing back to back, against two formidable opponents, but the Bulldogs were up to the challenge. Since this writer was at parent/teacher conferences, I'll go straight to the play of the game. Besides another two goals by Brooke "I score goals" Weber and outstanding support all around by her teammates, the play of the game came down to a layoff by Trimmer to Witkin, at the top of the box, for a well placed shot that hit the back of the net. Trimmer had a couple swipes at the ball, battled hard as Trimmer does, and then found Witkin waiting patiently for support. The Bulldogs have been working on layoffs for penetrating through balls, over the tops, and shots on net. The Lady Bulldogs are, day by day, becoming the team they have the capacity to be. The Bulldogs head out on Monday to Woodstock for an away game. If you're looking to Honor this team's Effort, come on out.
