The Dam Breaks

Coach Mull
The fortified dam of Mt. Anthony's back line finally broke five minutes into the second half when Niall Monahan served an immaculate cross onto the onrushing feet of junior stricker Jayden Bloom who blistered a worm-burner to make it 2-0 after a first half corner kick goal from captain Duncan Chamberlain. Just over a minute later River DeFelice struck from the other side off a quick counter attack ball from Nacho Matas who had an assist hat trick on the night. DeFelice added his second from Matas with five to go followed by a brilliant build up goal by senior winger Will Fox from a back heel flick by Jayden Bloom. Deflice wasn't finished fleecing the back of the net -- he struck with 30 seconds remaining, again assisted by Bloom. The win sealed BBA's second consecutive league championship and 10th in the last 13 years along with Coach Mull's 177th career win. The back line of juniors Luke Lehman, Duncan Chamberlain, Walker Brown and sophomore Nicky Miceli was solid. Senior Keeper Liam Day earned his 6th shutout of the year. BBA awaits news on their playoff matchup for next Tuesday or Wednesday. Coach Mull thanks the parents, families, fans and AD Dave Miceli for their support all season. He especially thanks the matchless group of Assistant Coaches, Brenton Pinkus, Geoff Chamberlain, and Chris Antonez. A special shoutout to junior team videographer Tate Morris as well.
