Visit Opportunities
It is important to us for students and their families to find a school that is the right fit for them. With this in mind, we want to provide you with opportunities to see Burr and Burton in action and learn more about the wide array of engaging learning opportunities and co-curricular activities that Burr and Burton offers.
Our visit opportunities include:
- Prospective Parent and Guardian Information Sessions
- Shadow days for students in 8th grade or higher
- Campus tours and enrollment conversations for prospective families
In addition to visits for prospective students and families, we also host academic sessions for those intending to enroll at BBA. These events include course registration meetings for students not attending a sending school, math placement testing, and world language placement testing.
Please see below for a bit of information about each visit opportunity.
Prospective Parent and Guardian Events
Parents and guardians who are registering a new student to attend Burr and Burton Academy for the 2026-2027 school year are encouraged to attend one of these meetings. Specifically, these events are intended for parents and guardians of students who are matriculating from eighth grade or transferring from a different school.
During the events, we will review:
- Academic and extra-curricular opportunities at BBA
- The BBA Success Program
- Registering a student to attend BBA
- Arts & Athletic Programming
- Filing residency and tuition documents
- High-level course schedules, programs, and orientation information
- Completing required school forms
Each meeting session will run from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Please register using the corresponding button to the right.
Shadow Days
Shadow days for students in the 8th grade or higher are wonderful ways for students to get a feel for what life is like on an everyday basis as a Bulldog. Prospective students can choose to shadow a student they may already know, or the enrollment team will carefully match a prospective student with a current Bulldog volunteer based on interests expressed in the Shadow Request Form. Visits are offered on select dates throughout the semester. Please complete the form on the right to request a Shadow Visit.
Campus Tours and Enrollment Conversations
Families who are relocating or considering a relocation to the area, or those who have students younger than eighth grade, we welcome you to join us for a campus tour and conversation with a member of the enrollment team. Please use the Shadow and Campus Tour request form on the right.
Course Scheduling Related Sessions
Students who currently attend The Dorset School, Flood Brook School, Maple Street School, or MEMS will meet with members of the BBA staff to review course scheduling and course selection. Students who do not attend one of those schools are invited to attend one of our course scheduling meetings by selecting a date from the links on the right.
Additionally, if a student does not attend one of the schools listed above they should choose a time to take a math placement exam at the link to the right.
Lastly, if a student attending any school is interested in taking a Level 2 or higher World Language course, they should sign up for a World Language placement test at the link to the right.
