Bloom still on the Rose

Junior Forward Jayden Bloom struck the back of the net three times in the first half to seal the Bulldogs rematch with Mt. Anthony. Still smarting from a 3-1 loss in the John James Tournament, the Bulldogs fought through some first half lethargy and cruised into half with a 3-0 lead. Bloom's goals were assisted on through balls from River DeFelice, Walker Brown, and Phoenix Heleba. The last goal came with 9 seconds remaining in the half to take the wind out of the Patriot's sails. Bloom struck again within the first 40 seconds of the seond half to make it 4-0. Johhny Miceli increased the lead to 5 on a nice individual effort from a long throw from River DeFelice. Coach Mull complimented the bench play -- yet again -- and the back line play of Luke Lehman, Nicky Miceli, and Declan Sullivan. Goalie Liam Day earned his 5th shutout of the season. The Bulldogs, now 7-5 and sitting atop the Southern Vermont League, face Leland and Gray for their Senior Game on Thursday at Taylor Field at 4:00.
