Bulldogs Fall Short

After staking an early 1-0 lead in the fourth minute on a left-footed volley from Jayden Bloom on a corner from Johnny Miceli, the Bulldogs could not add to their lead and the Hornets took advantage. Their first goal came off some give and gos and near post strike from sophomore Carter Frankenhoff. Senior Keeper Liam Day kept it knotted for Burr and Burton on a nice point blank save to end the half. The winning goal came early in the second half on a penalty kick by junior midfielder, Stefan Digangi. Burr and Burton falls to 8-5 and finishes their regular season away at Mount Anthony on Thursday night at 6:00 pm. Essex moves to 9-3-1 to hold onto a third seed in the state tournament.
