BBA Senior Parker Kulis has advanced to finalist standing in the National Merit Scholarship Program. About 1.6 million students in approximately 22,000 high schools enter the National Merit Scholarship competition annually when they take the PSAT. To be considered for a National Merit Scholarship, semifinalists have to submit a detailed scholarship application, have an outstanding academic record, be recommended by a school official, and earn top SAT scores. By the conclusion of the competition, a select group --only 15,000 students-- makes it to the finalist stage. About 7500 are chosen to receive prestigious National Merit Scholarships, totaling nearly $35 million.
