| > | Hello, Fellow Bulldogs! With a full and productive summer now behind us, we welcomed new students - future alumni! - back to Burr and Burton last week, and school is now officially in full swing. There have been many exciting updates to campus in recent months: the Smith Center was renovated to become the Smith STEM Center, the upper field is becoming a new turf field, the Mountain Campus reopened to students, and enrollment is at a record-high 789 students, including more than 40 international students from 12 countries. In this issue of The Belltower, there's so much we want to share with you - from the Five Things That Matter interview with Taylor Muench '15, to the 2025 Hall of Fame inductions, to Reunion and other upcoming events. Whether or not you're celebrating a milestone year, we hope you'll register for Reunion 2025 coming up in a few short weeks. We can't wait to welcome you back to Burr and Burton! |
Five Things That Matter with Taylor Muench '15 By: Samantha Watson '96, P'28, Director of Advancement Traveling internationally can instill a sense of perspective and inspire a love of adventure. Connecting with people who speak a different language and come from a different background offers a unique and personal glimpse into other cultures. For Taylor Muench, ’15, these lessons began in his own home, when he was barely old enough to remember. Throughout his life, there has always been someone from another country living with his family – from the woman from Scotland who helped raise him, to international students from around the globe, whom he now considers “brothers and sisters.” In fact, as he puts it, there is a “network of Muenches all over the world.” With each encounter, Taylor learned about the value of being curious, the importance of being open-minded, and the bonds that form when you allow yourself to be vulnerable. Those early experiences opened his mind and inspired him and his brother, Weston ’13, “to be curious people.” It is no coincidence – in fact, it is a direct result of these experiences – that he jumped at opportunities to travel the world during his years at Burr and Burton and then at Ithaca College, and is now living in Barcelona, Spain. |

| | 2025 Jeffrey Charbonneau Memorial Golf Tournament The Charbonneau Golf Tournament raises money to support the BBA Athletics program, with a specific focus on ice time for Burr and Burton's Hockey Program. This year, the event will be held on Sunday, September 28th, 2025. Jeffrey Charbonneau '05, a member of the first Burr and Burton ice hockey team and the first State Championship team, was tragically killed in November 2010. Jeff had a passion for ice hockey, and he always played hard and with great respect. Jeff's jersey #6 has been retired and now hangs in his memory at the Riley Rink. You can support BBA Hockey and honor Jeffrey's memory by registering to play, by organizing a foursome, or by sponsoring a tee. Register as a player or a sponsor here and please contact Dave Miceli with any questions. |
