A Tale of Two Halves

It was a tale of two halves as Arlington jumped out to a quick 2 goal lead in the first two minutes of the game.  We were able to regain our composure and make some quick adjustments at midfield to defend more aggressively and stay patient for any counterattack opportunities.  The second half was a much different story as our defense (Kava, Will, Blake, Charlie, Luke and Kyle) started to frustrate the Arlington offense.  Although, they were able to sneak in 2 more goals to go up 4 to 0.  We started to counter with some great passing combinations between Eli, Aiden, Evan, Max Borhek and Landon.  Landon was able to finally breakthrough on offense and was taken down in the box for a PK.  Landon buried the PK and gave us some momentum.  Evan "Man of the Match" Hulett had some terrific individual effort and tenacity.  He had multiple runs at their defense and finally found the back of the net with terrific shot across goal to the upper corner.  Seb also had a few breakaways that just missed.  Our goalies (Ryan and Dylan) came up with some terrific saves and faced offensive pressure the entire game.   Again, I am proud of the effort and resilience that the team displayed.  They played hard right until the final whistle.
