The Mountain Campus of Burr and Burton Academy is in Peru, Vermont. It includes 100 acres, mostly forested, that border National Forest lands. Our opening and closing days will be spent on our school building and cabin. For our outing, we will walk directly from campus into the Green Mountains around Peru Peak.
Participants may leave belongings and a car on campus during our course and hike.
Cellular phone service is spotty on our campus, but the wifi is strong.
Participants may want a laptop computer to share curricular materials and ideas, but all the materials we intend to use will be printed. Journals will be provided. A participant may arrive with no more than hiking boots and clothing, and have a full educational experience.
Our full program will run 8am Saturday, June 29 – 5pm Tuesday, July 2. There will be an optional soft start and finish; Friday, June 28 participants are invited—and encouraged—to arrive for dinner and a cabin / tent camp-out; this will help out-of-area participants, but all are invited. We will end the course officially with a final, early dinner party, with food at 5pm Tuesday. Camp participants who wish may stay late, including a final night in the Mountain Campus cabin.
