Does your child like to build with LEGO?  Do they think robots are cool?  Do they enjoy taking things apart to see how they work?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, LEGO Techsploration is the camp they've been looking for!  As a camper, your child will learn basic computer programming and mechanical engineering with LEGO Mindstorms for NXT.  They'll design and program "autonomous" robots for a variety of challenges and competitions.
Kevin Morrison, a Media Arts instructor at Burr and Burton Academy, has been teaching LEGO Mindstorms to children for over 20 years and guarantees a fun and enriching experience for all.

    Note:
Campers should practice using a mouse on a computer before they arrive at camp.  More on this closer to the first day of camp.

About Suzanne Mears: Suzanne is the head coach for the girls varsity soccer program at Burr and Burton Academy. Mears played as a four-year starter and two-year captain for the Saint Michael’s College Women’s Soccer Team. Coach Mears joined the BBA community and soccer program in 2014. Since Coach Mears’ time at BBA, she has led the Varsity team to consecutive undefeated regular seasons, ten D1 Marble Valley League Titles, and a D1 State Championship. In her first season, the lady bulldogs finished 14-0 in the regular season (15-1 overall) which was the first undefeated regular season since 1999 and first ever as a D1 program. During Coach Mears’ second season, she led the Bulldogs to another 14-0 perfect season, marking the program's first back-to-back undefeated regular seasons. The Lady Bulldogs went on to complete a 17-1 overall season record as they competed in the D1 State Championship game, which was the first as a D1 program. During this season the bulldogs were regionally ranked. For the last few seasons, Mears has continued to lead the Lady Bulldogs to winning seasons and ranking in the top of the State for D1 soccer.  In the 2016 season, Mears was named Marble Valley League Coach of the Year, Vermont Large School Coach of the Year, and Region 1- New England Coach of the Year.  Her passion and knowledge of the game will ensure a week well worth your while!
