BBA senior and Student Council president, Chris Alfano recently returned from Washington, D.C. where he was one of two students chosen to represent Vermont at the 62nd annual United States Senate Youth Program. The program was a weeklong experience in Washington, D.C., where he met with some of the top officials in the U.S. federal government.

Students got to hear from President Joe Biden, Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Supreme Court Justice Elana Kagan, Journalist Judy Woodruff, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Charles Q. Brown, and many other Senators and members of Congress. On Wednesday evening, there was a "Senate Reception" event where they got to meet with Senators Peter Welch and Bernie Sanders.

The students were guests at the White House during the State of the Union address. President Biden and the First Lady invited the group to a State of the Union watch party in the East Room. When they returned from the Capitol, they spoke with the students and President Biden took a group photo to commemorate the evening.
